Born and raised in the Scranton, Pennsylvania area, Tarryn completed her bachelor's degree in chemistry at Boston University before landing in New Orleans to attend Tulane University Law School.  She graduated from Tulane Law in 2014 and joined the team at Murphy, Rogers, Sloss, Gambel and Tompkins shortly thereafter, becoming a director in 2022. 

Since becoming a part of Murphy Rogers, Tarryn has practiced in the areas of maritime personal injury defense, maritime cargo claims, multimodal transportation, general casualty and insurance litigation, premises and merchant liability, commercial litigation and business disputes, property damage litigation, employment disputes, intellectual property, entertainment and workers’ compensation. In addition to practicing before federal and state courts in Louisiana and Texas, she has also practiced before the U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

Tarryn is a member of, and involved in, WISTA USA, the Maritime Law Association of the United States, and the Southeastern Admiralty Law Institute, as well as the Louisiana and Texas Bar Associations.  She also volunteers with the New Orleans Pro Bono Project.  Her publications include: “Case Law Update: Indemnities in Practice,” Skuld Offshore’s The Field (February 2018), in conjunction with Skuld Offshore and Peter B. Tompkins; and “Try a Little Less Tenderness: A Proposal for Presenting Expert Testimony,” Louisiana Bar Journal (Dec 2017 / Jan 2018), in conjunction with John Musser.  Tarryn was also named a “Rising Star” in maritime and transportation litigation for Louisiana by Super Lawyers, in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024.
